This is the state's largest privately funded tourist attraction run by a professional astronomer. Established in August 2004, the observatory has three big telescopes that allow you to see the Moon, Planets, and the Cosmos up close under very dark skies. Day and night sessions operate 6 days and 7 nights a week. Situated 30 kms south of Nanango and close to the Bunya Mountains National Park, Maidenwell boast a modern general store, olive plantation, Coomba Falls and the Maidenwell Hotel. Read more |
